Eldora Escape |
| |
| Made my first foray into taking pictures of mountain bikes at my brother's race in the
Eldora Escape, part of the
Mountain States Cup. About
time we
got out there to see him - he's been doing very well in the series so far. This race was no exception...he got himself
on the podium for the third XC race in a row. *sniff* I'm so proud.

| My pictures aren't so good, being as it was my first time. I had no idea what the course was like, so no idea where was a
good place for photos. I went to the start first, then hiked up to the top of a big hill. They did 3 laps on a 6.5 mile course,
which meant there was a lot of time to kill between laps. I sat down on a rock to wait, and was instantly covered with
ants. Such are the risks. Most of the pictures are of Steve, of course, but I did take a few of others when I was setting up shots
and not brushing off ants. |

| Here's pictures of Steve and then there's
everyone else |

 |
| I learned some good race strategy from observing the riders at the start. Apparently it's important to start
the race with the correct tongue position. |

Blast the Mass - Snowmass, Colorado July 15th, 2006 |
| Made the trip out to watch another MSC cup race in Snowmass. It's worth a long haul to go and
watch him, because he's a fast one. Go here and enter NORBA #206515 to
see what I'm talking about. |
| |
 | Being as the race was a single loop, there's not many race shots.
Here's some course pictures, some from the start, and (spoiler) Steve on the podium. Check out his great shirt.
|
 | Took a couple of shots of the insane sport of Mountain Cross.
Don't know any of these people. But I still think they're all a tad crazy for doing this.
|
 | All the kids did the kids' race.
We had to push their bikes up the entire mountain to get to the start, then had missed it. Steve told them that they
would run another race. Fortunately, there were some other latecomers who joined in as well. No big deal for the
race organizers, since all kids get medals and it only takes about five minutes.
